Adjiedj Bakas, the most important trendwatcher in Holland, came to TREFFPUNKT to learn German as quickly as possible in preparation for the introduction of his newest book,"Megatrends Europe", on German television. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ August 2005 Our student Adjiedj Bakas from The Netherlands will launch his new book ‘Megatrends Europe’ during the ‘China Meets Europe Conference’ on December 13 in Gran Canaria, Spain. The Chinese Minister of Trade Shi Quangsheng and Eurocommissioner of Economic Affairs Joaquin Almunia will inaugurate the first copy of this prestigious book, for which Frits Bolkestein, former Eurocommisioner, wrote the introduction. The former German minister of foreign affairs Hans-Diettrich Genscher wrote a column in the book. It is published in English and Chinese first, and later in German too. Bakas learned German at our institution in order to be able to give lectures and press reviews in German speaking countries. In The Netherlands he is one of the main trendwatchers. Also German journalists who read the book already, are enthusiastic, as their statements on the book cover prove.
